Custom Live Streaming Solution for the Brooklyn/Queens Archdioces

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

In 2017, we were contacted by the Brooklyn/Queens Archdiocese to design and install a live streaming solution in 3 Churches in New York City. The system had to be cost effective. Of course, we said yes!

Once we had a strong understanding of their objectives for the system, we tested various encoders, cameras, and audio components to determine the optimal choice of hardware and software that was also cost effective and within their budget.

We sourced and installed the 3 systems in the 3 Churches designated by the Archdiocese.

From 2017 to March 2020, those Churches used the system and found it be be easy to use and reliable.

Then in March 2020, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, all houses of worship were ordered closed by the Governor.

Almost overnight, these 3 systems became a lifeline to the parishioners of the original 3 Churches, with an average of over 200 views a day.

The following week, our contact from the Archdiocese called to ask how quickly we could install similar systems in 120 Churches. In the middle of this pandemic, we were then faced with the challenge of tackling a large order for urgent installations.

During the next 6 months, we installed the 120 live streaming systems despite critical supply chain issues, and the new COVID safety mandates such as staff working six feet apart, and in full personal protection equipment. Staff also had to travel separately to each location. Knight Nets got the job done!

The successful implementation created a life line to thousands of parishioners, when they needed it most.

Based on the analytics of the systems in place, the Churches were all averaging a daily viewership of over 200 people per Church.

Knight Nets got the job done for them. We will get it done for you too! That's our promise!
